Argentina is a federal republic located mostly in the southern half of South America and it’s about one-third the size of the United States. It has 40,091,359 inhabitants. Argentina is bordered by the Andes Mountains and Chile to the west. The eastern border of the country is the Atlantic Ocean. Bolivia is to the northwest and Paraguay is to the north.

Argentina is the eighth-largest country in the world, the second largest in Latin America, and the largest Spanish-speaking nation.

The country is divided into seven regions: Northwest, Mesopotamia, Gran Chaco, Sierras Pampeanas, Cuyo, Pampas, Patagonia, and it is subdivided into twenty-three provinces and one autonomous city, Buenos Aires, which is the federal capital of the nation.

Argentina is considered a country of immigrants with the second biggest immigration wave in the world.
Unlike South American countries, Argentina has fewer native people and a large population, which came from Europe – Italy, Spain, and Germany and also it is home to a significant population of Arab, mostly of Syrian and Lebanese origin. The majority of Arab Argentines are Christians.

Nearly half of the population lives in the area around Buenos Aires which is often likened to Paris or Rome for its architectural styles and lively nightlife.

Argentina is a megadiverse country hosting one of the greatest ecosystem varieties in the world because it has an exceptional amount of climate diversity, ranging from subtropical in the north to polar in the far south.
Benefiting from rich natural resources, a highly literate population, a diversified industrial base, and an export-oriented agricultural sector, the economy of Argentina is Latin America’s third-largest, and the second largest in South America.
Argentina is one of the biggest food producing and exporting countries in the world. The country has over 86 million acres of arable land for crops. Argentines consume the second most beef per capita in the entire world, only being beaten out by Hong Kong.

Argentina is known as one of the highest literary countries in the world. Five people from Argentina have won Nobel Prizes in the categories of science and peace.

The Argentinean people love to dance. Ballroom dancing is a great activity that many people partake in on a daily basis. Many ballroom dances originated in the country including the tango. Historically, the tango originated in the slaughterhouse district in Buenos Aires.
